Hastings Woodworkers Guild was formed on 22nd June 1994 with 16 members. In 1995 the group moved to the Wauchope Showgrounds. As the Guild’s membership grew, it was necessary to relocate. We now have over 70 members with a shed size of 400 sq metres. We are now located at Timbertown Heritage Theme Park on the Oxley Hwy at Wauchope in the Hastings Valley NSW.
Working days at the Shed are Wednesdays and Saturdays. Each Saturday we hold a workshop. These workshops consist of Intarsia, Box Making, Woodturning, and one Saturday per month is set aside so that members can become accredited on the use of our machines.
Monthly Meetings are held on the 3rd Saturday of the month and lunch is provided at a minimal cost to the member. Guests speakers are invited to attend some of these meetings.
The Guild does a lot of charity work . The Guild makes an annual donation to the Port Macquarie Oncology Unit and this year we also donated to Camp Quality.
We have our Annual Woodworking exhibition each year around September/October , this is held at Panthers Port Macquarie, and is our major fund raiser.
The Guild has given members both men & women (we have women members) a great outlet to share a common interest not only in woodworking but life in general, you never know what will be discussed at the lunch table.
The Guild always welcome new members as each new member always brings something new to the Club. If you would like to know more about joining Hastings Woodworkers Guild please contact the workshop during working hours 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM, 7 days a week on 0488 531 431 or contact Robert Miles (President) on 02 6581 3444 or Kev Carmody (Secretary) 02 6581 5704
